The idea for me to set up my own business as a cat sitter stems back to when my Dad and his wife moved away from us and so I had to search myself for someone to feed my lot when we are away. I didn’t want to leave them in a cattery but our nearest cat sitter was a long distance away and the local pet sitters were more dog people. As I’ve always adored cats I thought it a brilliant business opportunity as there must be other cat owners with the same problem.
So 18 years later here I am with a large customer base and have had the privilege of visiting a large number of cats; from tiny kittens to OAP’s (my oldest being 22 years young!). I have visited very very shy cats where I’ve had to work my socks off to get them confident enough to come to me and the other end of the scale, very bold cats that plonked themselves on my lap at the consultation! I’ve had to deal with the sadness of receiving emails/calls telling me a cat has passed away but then the excitement of those owners getting back in touch as they’ve adopted another cat. Each cat I visit has their very own personality and I’ve found none the same. One thing they all do the same is recognise me as the food and fuss lady, so once they’ve got to know me they happily greet me at the door which is a wonderful feeling!
So…here’s to the next 18 years!!

Over the years I've had the huge pleasure being slave to 7 other cats who sadly are no longer with us. |
On 26th January 2021 I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat Sooty. She made it to the grand old age of 20 years and 10 months. She was my very 1st cat as an adult. In old age she had kidney disease, arthritis, early dementia, became totally deaf and had a benign tumour above her eye which affected her sight. However, that didn’t stop her enjoying life right up to the few days before her 1 way ticket to rainbow bridge. Her leaving had a massive impact on me, I was utterly heartbroken. |
On 7th June 2019 we had to say a very sad goodbye to Joey, the white and black cat in the above picture. He was 15 years old and we'd had him since he was 8 weeks old. He died from kidney disease which he had bravely battled for 4 years. He was such a kind and gentle cat with a large personality and we were totally heartbroken at his passing. |
On 22nd March 2018 we had to say a very sad farewell to Jack, the black cat in the above picture. He was 13 years old and such a lovely cat. He did suffer from IBD which later made his pancreas poorly. Sadly, he ended up getting pancreatic cancer. He dribbled when he was fussed and he liked to sit on the stairs or unit and bop you as you passed. His passing left a huge hole in our family. ![]() This is Molly. Sadly she died at 16 weeks old. We believe it was a genetic condition as her brother in the same litter, who was also ginger, died of similar symptoms. Her brother was Jack. |
![]() This is Spyro. We got him in 2001. He was a very lovable boy, with a very long tail. He sadly was involved in a RTA one morning. He was only 2 years old. |
![]() This is Murphy. It was with a heavy heart that we had to rehome him to a kind friend due to severe bullying behaviour on his part to our other 3 cats. Thankfully, I got regular updates and he was happy and had a doggy best friend who took no bullying from him. Heartbreakingly, in September 2014 Murphy was found dead in my friend’s neighbour’s garden. The vet believes he died from a brain aneurism and it was instant so didn’t suffer. |
![]() This is Harry. Sadly, we lost him in a road accident when he was still very young. |
