Hello and welcome

Aren’t cats amazing animals? They come in an assortment of colours, shapes and sizes. Yet they all have one thing in common, their power to turn us humans into their slaves. How many times have you slept awkward in bed, just because your cat wants to have plenty of room to snooze, or stop your favourite film because they are biting your toes telling you they want food? They have this power and hold on your heart which makes you want the best for them.

This is why it makes it hard when you are organising a holiday, business trip or even a stay in hospital. You naturally have your cat’s happiness as top priority. Do you use a cattery, friends and family, or a cat sitter?

So, what is a cat sitter?

A cat sitter is a person who comes into your home once or twice daily to feed, change litter and care for your cat. A cat sitter is a good alternative to a cattery as your beloved cat gets to stay at home where he feels safe and secure surrounded by the smells and sounds he knows. Some cats can get very stressed being removed from their home environment which can result in a costly vet bill on your return. Financially, it is ideal for multi cat households as this can be quite costly if a cattery is used.

A cat sitter is also good for home security which can be another worry whilst you are away on holiday. A cat sitter can remove post, switch lights on and off, close/open curtains and in my case, drive an unmarked car, so it looks like there is activity at your property.

A cat sitter can keep you updated as often as you want via text or email about your cats wellbeing and also the security of your home even on a daily basis, which I am more than happy to do. This can be a great peace of mind and lets you enjoy your holiday knowing all is good at home and then as in my case, you come home to a happy cat and a summary from me about what we’ve been up to.

Please do browse my website and find out all about me and my services and look at some of the gorgeous cats I’ve had the pleasure of visiting in my Gallery and then get in touch. You can check out what I’m up to at the moment on Facebook where you’ll also find more reviews about my services.

    Questions & Answers

    1. What period of time are bookings accepted for?

I take bookings for 1 day upwards
    2. What happens when I book you for the first time?

I always do a free consultation visit. Here I meet you and your cat/s and make notes on their routine, likes and dislikes and a few forms need to be filled in. This is an ideal time to chat with me about any concerns you have. I do prefer to do this visit as close to your holiday as possible. This way your cat/s will remember me and things are still very fresh in my mind. Your booking will be pencilled in my diary until the consultation visit where dates and times can be confirmed and finalised. Please remember at the consultation visit I will need a spare house key.
    3. What about future bookings

For future bookings no consultation visit is needed as I keep all information on file. Just email/phone/text me with the dates you need me. Always make sure I reply to confirm. Regards the key I will try and pick up the key during visits in your area. If this isn’t possible I will have to charge £2.50 for key collection. This is to cover petrol costs.
    4. What do I have to supply?

You must supply plenty of litter, cat food, and treats and leave in plain view. I will take away all cat related rubbish in bags I supply.
    5. What happens about our house keys whilst in your care?

Your keys will be locked away and will only have a reference number on, not your address or name. After the last visit the key will be returned as arranged.
    6. How can you reassure me you will not abuse our trust in you, regarding our cat/s and property?

I am Background checked to prove I have no criminal record, i can show you the certificate to prove this. I also have Pet Business Insurance. I also have a folder full of referances from previous and repeat clients who are happy to take your call for reassurance. I fully understand about being unsure of leaving your home and cats in the care of a stranger having used cat sitters myself. Whilst you are away i can send photos and messages through Whats App or Facebook messenger as well as text messages. I hope that during the consultation visit I will alleviate any concerns you have.
    7. How secure will our house be?

Your house will stay as secure as you leave it. I can alternate switching lights on and off, open and close curtains and I even drive an unmarked car so not to advertise that you are away from the property.
    8. What areas do you cover?

I live in Huntington in Cannock in Staffordshire and cover all of Cannock.
    9. What if we are going to be delayed getting home?

Take my phone numbers with you, and call me as soon as you are aware. I will visit your home again as before. Payment for these visits can be paid when i return your key or through bank transfer.
    10. Should I leave my cat flap open?

This is a difficult question. Cats ideally should be locked inside during the night, for their safety. However, I fully understand some cats want access to outside at all times. If you wish the cat flap opened in the morning and locked at night then 2 visits daily will be needed. Some owners keep their cats locked in whilst they are away. We can discuss this at the consultation.
    11. Do you care for any other animals?

I am a cat sitter however, some cat owners also own small animals, birds or fish. I can care for these too. Please email me with your request and I will get back to you.
