Questions and Answers
-
What period of time are bookings accepted for?
I take bookings for 1 day upwards
-
What happens when I book you for the first time?
I will arrange to meet you and your cat/s at a mutually convenient time.
Here we will discuss your cat/s likes and dislikes, habits, routines, personality, special diet, etc. If you have an alarm
system, I have to be familiarised with it, and given a spare set of house keys. At this time a deposit of 25% of the total fee
needs to be paid to secure the booking.
-
What about future bookings
For future bookings, due to me keeping all necessary information on file, no consultation visit is needed.
-
What do I have to supply?
You must supply plenty of litter, cat food, and treats and leave in plain view. I will take
away all cat related rubbish in bags I supply.
-
What happens about our house keys whilst in your care?
Your keys will be locked away, and will only have a reference number
on, not your address or name. Your keys will be returned to you once you have arrived home. I will pop round and give them to
you personally.
-
How can you reassure me you will not abuse our trust in you, regarding our cat/s and property?
I am CRB checked to prove
I have no criminal record. I also have Public Liability Insurance. My passion is for cat/s, you will see this in my forum
and the way I am with my own cats.
-
How secure will our house be?
Your house will stay as secure as you leave it. I can alternate switching lights on and off, open and close curtains and I even drive an
unmarked car so not to advertise that you are away from the property.
-
What areas do you cover?
Rugeley and surrounding areas including most of Staffordshire.
-
What if we are going to be delayed getting home?
Take my phone numbers with you, and call me as soon as you are aware.
I will visit your home again as before. Payment for this visit will be collected when I return your house keys. I do request a phone call
to me on your return to let me know that your cat is back in your care and to arrange the return of your keys.
-
Should I leave my cat flap open?
This is a difficult question. Cats ideally should be locked inside during the night,
for their safety. Cats Protection actually recommends this. Some owners are happy for their cat/s to be locked inside at
all times while they are away. If you wish your cat to have outside access, I can’t guarantee their safety, or keep an eye on them as
they may well be outside when I visit. If you wish the cat flap locked at night and reopened in the morning, this will of course require
2 visits. This is something we will discuss on our initial meeting.
-
Do you care for any other animals?
Although primarily a cat sitter, I will consider most requests. Please email me
with your request and I will get back to you.
