Family
I have 2 children, aged 11 and 13. They are as mad on cats as I am. I live with my partner Dave.

Cat Family
I am slave to 4 gorgeous cats. Sooty who is 7 and a lady, and Jack and Joey, or the J’s for short. Jack is black except for a few strands of white fur on his chest, and is 2 years old. His favourite hobby is dribbling when being fussed, and rolling around in catnip. Joey is white and black, and is 3 years old. His favourite thing is playing with milk bottle top tabs and eating Whiskas Treats.

Finally there is my most recent addition to my family. Murphy is a gorgeous ginger and white boy adopted from a rescue. He is only a kitten and his favourite thing is to be naughty and to look cute. All my boys love playing chase together.

I have also had the privilege over the last few years, to be slave to 3 other gorgeous kitties, who sadly are no longer with us.

This is Molly. Sadly she died at 16 weeks old. We believe it was a genetic condition as her brother in the same litter, who was also ginger, died of similar symptoms. Her brother is Jack.

This is Spyro. We got him in 2001. He was a very lovable boy, with a very long tail. He sadly was involved in a RTA one morning. He was only 2 years old.

Finally, this is Harry. He was nicknamed Psycho Harry, as he was as mad as a hatter! We adopted him from a rescue, and he was bought to them after being found living on the streets. He had been owned, but no one came for him. He was a little feral, hence how he got his name. He liked to be heard, and boy could he wail! He had such a naughty character, but it was the sort to give you the fit of giggles. Sadly, after escaping our cat flap, thanks to a naughty neighbour’s cat breaking in, he got himself run over, and sadly died. December 12th 2006 was a very sad day for my family and friends who new him. He has left a big hole in our family.

My Hobbies
I like going out for meals, going to the gym once in a while, and being with my family. I also enjoy being involved with and being an administrator to a cat forum. www.katnip.co.uk is a forum for cat lovers and cat rescues. I have met some fabulous people on there, 2 of whom I got Jack, Molly and Harry from. They both run very successful, but sadly demanding and over flowing rescues. I have also learnt a lot of amazing things about cats from there.

Why I Wanted to be a Cat Sitter
I have always had a passion for cats. I love my 3 to bits, and get so much pleasure from them. When I was younger I wanted to work in a cattery or a cat rescue, but these aren’t really ideal jobs for paying your bills. Up until this year, my father has always come into my home and cared for our cats whilst on holiday. However, he recently moved up to Hull, and so is now unable to care for them. This meant we had to find care for our cats when we go away. It was during this search I realised the lack of cat sitters in this area. I felt this was an ideal opportunity to set up a much needed service, and work in a job I truly would enjoy.
